Cue refinishing

I know there are probably a lot of different people that do this but I'm looking for someone who can refinish a McWorter cue and put on a flawless leather wrap. Good turnaround time, quality work and trustworthy are requirements.

Can anyone recommend someone good for me? I'm in the NJ/NYC area and if I can drop off and pick up it would be a plus.

Advice appreciated.

Your best bet is McWorter.

I really like Jerry but it did take him 4 years to give me a shaft. I am still going to consider him but the finish job on this cue wasn't immaculate to begin with. His work is fantastic now though.

A lot of people have had a lot of really good things to say about Proficient Billiards. They do a lot of high end cues & advertise a good turn around time. proficientbilliards.com

My choose would be steve lomax, he is member look him up. he does great work and backs it up. STICK:grin-square: :grin-square: :grin-square:

Richard Hsu in Brooklyn is a great choice. He's a cuemaker too so he knows how to treat a cue right. Saw him put a stacked leather wrap on Pole's cue that was smoooooth.. And his turnaround time is pretty good. We take all our cue work to him.. look him up.. Oh and hes a forum member here too :)

I would ask Jerry to give you a realistic lead time and price.

If those aren't agreeable to you, call Scott Sherbine at Proficient.

He has refinished a few cues for me and also for Chris Tate.

He does very nice work, is reasonably priced and has a very fast turn around time.

Best,

Russ..........

scott sherbine

proficient billiards... he did 2 cues for me, finished them in 2 weeks... amazing job and fast...

I own a Schon that was just refinished by Profiecient Billiards for AZ'er Matt90 and the cue is flawless with a great looking shiny clearcote and I have honestly not found 1 flaw. Leonard

Proficient billiards...Scott has done alot of my work the past 8 years and he's as good as anyone. Of course the original cuemaker would be most people's choice but Scott specializes in one thing only.... cue refinish and repair and his prices are low and he's quick but not too quick..he does it right..

Finish... Mike Capone. He has one of the nicest finishes around. He's not super close, but he isn't too far away either. Maryland, I think.

Wrap... Paul Fanelli. He's in North Jersey too. One of the best wrap guys I've ever seen. You'll spend a while looking for the seem. I dont know if he's doing repairs these days. But he is one of the best.

Take it up to Mike Webb in Rhode Island (webbcues). If he will do the refinish you will be a very happy person. And, you are close enough to road-trip it. :)
