i will not say who did this cuz i do not try to mess up anyones business. but i would like to know what you would have done. i sent a cue to get sprayed by a person who did not make the cue. the cue had a crack in the inlay and instead of tellin me that and me having him fix it he just refinished and told me the inlays were cracked. i believe he should have said let me fix it then i will refinish it. but he is trying to charge me to refinish it again and to fix the inlay and i think i should be getting a deal am i wrong for thinking this way or not.

Hi,

First of all, I think you are a very good person for not mentioning names or flaming someone. Your question is a good one!

If someone wanted me to refinish a cue and they want me to fix an inlay, I would never take the job unless it was one of my cues. To repair inlays you have to have the G-code for the geometry or the pattern template for a panagraph.

As for your present situation, I would tell you to have the inlay fixed, and send me the cue back and I would redo the finish job for free because of your confusion on the issue. I would not however redo the inlay at any time unless it was one of my cues.

If you gave an auto shop a car and said paint it and it had dents on the fender would you assume they were going to fix the dents?

It's always all about the contract or agreement. But from a cue makers perspective a cracked inlay has nothing to do with a re finish job.

Customer is always King and should get the benefit of the doubt every time!

It should have been discussed, if you knew the inlay was cracked when you sent it to him, You should have brought it to his attention, If he saw it, He should have brought it to your attention. There are a few (IF's) that might have been avoided.
