i have the chance to purchase a tad that is suppose to roll out at the joint.. i was told by a cue maker that there are two options...specs tad model 41 steel joint...i was told that if it the joint that is causing the roll that would be a fairly easy fix... however if the forearm is causing the roll then cue has to be rebuilt.... my question is can any cue with these two problems or one of the problems be fixed? also what kind of price range would be in... i would really like kevin to fix it however he didnt seem interested in doing the job....ball park figure would help to see if it would be worth me buying... not looking to pin anyone down to price however i have no clue... could cost 150 dollars or maybe thousands? i just dont know any help would be great... thanks mickey carroll

well could be a simple facing issue which costs next to nothing. if the forearm or handle is warped your looking in the hundreds of dollars. the only way to tell is to give it to a maker to check out in a lathe. cost for every maker will change. i would call fred at tad cues.

any more help would be appricated....

please look at this all cue makers and let me know what you think....

What Dave said is pretty much what I would as well. Without the cue in hand it's tough to make a call on exactly what the problem is.

found out problem today...

cue rolls out about a 1/16 of an inch at the point were the forearm meets up with the wrap.... hopefully this helps... thanks mickey carroll

The cue has to be put on a lathe and examined for run out at several points to determine what action is to be taken. No way around this. Send it to Fred Kohara, or Scott at Proficient Billiards.

thanks for all the help

i talked to fred today i guess that is what i am going to do.... hopefully he can fix it... thanks mickey carroll

Keep us informed, would like to hear about the results and how much it cost.
