Carbon - RhinoNew cue shaft for Schon STL-6 purchased in Dec. 2001.
Budget is tight.
Money vs quality is the only consideration.
Recommend Best Bang for the Buck cue shaft?
I have an older schon shaft that was basically just test hit. From the early 2000s. I traded something for it, thinking it would be a good backup shaft. Never ended up using except to test it on a cue. If New shafts are 240. Even if i let it go for 150, shipping kills the deal i would think. Not selling, just saying buying used and shipping isnt very cost effective.Definitely Rhino carbon I'd think. Good deal.
Or, if you want wood, maybe a used Schon shaft from someone who's changed over to playing carbon...I would imagine there are some out there to be had for a decent price.
I have never played with a CF. But I am open minded.Wood or CF?
I saw their ad on FB so I bought 2. Was about 145 ea with all the discountsYes, my Rhino fits our Schons. As to weight, I'd have to measure when I get home tomorrow, but if I remember right about 4-4.2 oz
I got it Last Jan, then they announced 3 different 5/16 pins. At that time they only shipped the standard pin, it's just a touch loose threading on but ok, and tightens up really good. If ordering another one I might ask for the tighter version. I think it's only a thousandths or two tighter. The one we got was 12.5 mm and I really like it, problem was my wife instantly liked it also and told me it was hers.
Where are you located?I can look through some old storage cases and see what I have. Probably a near new Schon, a Bob Danielson SS360/2 (LD shaft), maybe a Players and possibly a Tiger LD shaft. Right now they are just sitting around so I'd probably let them go cheaply.
What year and model Schon do you have with specs? Can you provide at least minimum of 2 x Photos with Rhino shaft? More if you like. Assembled Schon cue with Rhino shaft at joint (closeup). And disassembled cue showing butt joint and Rhino shaft joint next to each other (closeup) showing contact surface detail. If can do, thanks.Yes, my Rhino fits our Schons.
