Cue shaft: Best Bang for the Buck?

Just weighed my Schon STL-6 bought in Dec 2001
originally tip 13mm but don't know what it is now
shaft 4.13 oz
butt 15.42 oz

Give the Cuetec Cynergy a try. If all of a sudden you’re not worried too much about budget go with the Revo or Whyte carbon.

What year and model Schon do you have with specs? Can you provide at least minimum of 2 x Photos with Rhino shaft? More if you like. Assembled Schon cue with Rhino shaft at joint (closeup). And disassembled cue showing butt joint and Rhino shaft joint next to each other (closeup) showing contact surface detail. If can do, thanks.

3 of them are 3 to 4 years old, one, not sure as bought used and not like any current model.
Rhino Shaft weight 4.15 oz. 12.5 mm.
Rhino joint was about .006 larger than Schon diameter, not bad, but I have a lathe so I tapered it to match. It was only .003 from fitting flush before blending it.
Who knows what your schon shaft weighs but they typically weigh between 3.9 and 4.2 oz.
I never had to alcohol wipe my shaft, it was clean when I got it.

Just in case some are wondering, in real life the shaft is much darker than what it shows in these closeups, pretty much like the full length shot. Also, the stainless joint, hum, really doesn't look like that, looks really good in fact, but maybe I should try to clean it up. Then again, it's my wife's cue, and I can use this picture to tease her about taking better care of it, ha ha.

Great pics.
Nice looking cue.
Thanks for taking the time and making the effort.

in your quest not too long ago. i got a Schon shaft on the bay from joerackem, i believe. i got my 1st schon around 1990. the new shaft felt identical when i tried it. having the taper you've had for years, i'd stick with schon's fine taper. i got 3 schon shafts from him. 2 match my R10; other has silver ring.
