Cue storage?

cue storage?? well lets segway here....just my two cents

well I don't think any of you guys know or well I haven't said, but I am a classically trained concert cellist---one of those side things;) ....

anyways any string instrument player will tell you that besides keeping their instrument stored correctly(temp humidity and air pressure) we also are pretty anal about how our bows are stored... keep in mind that the average handmade bow for cellist goes for about $5000...or at least mine did. Most professional players have multiple bows(made of pernambuco wood) in the price range of 10k each. Bow-makers usually store them flat and in pull out shelves. Its a no-no to have them stored any other way. Aside from that they just have de-humidifiers in their storage area to prevent warping.

so I think it would be best to copy what they do... since people have been making bows since ... the 1600's

or at least if I ever get a cue collection going...they will all be laying flat in pull out drawers that have their own environmental controls.

I'd imagine that if you kept it in a gun safe you could toss some silicon packets (those little bead packs you get with metal things) in there to suck up moisture.

OOHH>.. wait... about the silicon packets..

You guys with little kids.... Take a CLEAN disposable diaper, cut a hole in it and remove the super absorbent gel polymer. Works way better than the packets. We use to use that stuff in the bio lab to clean up all kinds of stuff. My prof showed me the diaper trick when her toddler son decided to knock over a bottle of crystal violet(used for staining slides)...she sprikled it on the floor and boom! no more spill.

anyways line the bottom of a drawer with some of that stuff and poof! no moisture!
