CUE TEST of DOUBLE REFUND CUE

I"m the lucky person on the list at this time to have a week's free trial with Chuck Starkey's double refund cue from AZ forum fame last year. He post on AZ as desi2960 if you want on the list. The cue is wood to wood joint with a big wood pin and it hits and plays great although it does not seem to be a Tallisman medium pro tip I'm used to playing with. The fit and finish is awesome for a cue that gets passed around every weekend and the wood is beautiful as any I've ever seen. I have played about two hours with it this evening and switched back to my OB 1 shaft to see if it changed my game and was able to stay in stroke. I will be asking Chuck now if he can put that big wood pin in a OB 1 partial shaft so he can build me a cue with the best of both worlds. oh good, glad you got it, im the one that sent it to you. I thought it was awesome, i msg'd chuck to talk about building me one but i havent heard back, looks like he hasnt been here since last week.
 
that list must be looong, I wouldn't mind getting on it because I'd love to see what all the wood-pin fuss is about!
 
I just purchased two cues from Chuck, one is still in my hand and the other went to a local. Basically I let her test hit it, and 1 rack later she wanted to buy the cue. :)

Chuck is one of the best and easiest guys to work with when it comes to buying a cue and his cues just play outstanding. I can't even take it out of the case without getting some curious players and admirers eyeballing this cue!

Is there many of his cues on the west side Jay? I have trouble with the idiot that requested a refund on this cue not once but twice after getting it for a great price. I would like to keep it cause the woods are beautiful and the hit is great and I ain't dreamin.--Leonard
 
I just got an email letting me know I am comming up on the list.I have been waiting for a few months and am very excited to try this cue out.I will be able to play with the cue every day.I will give it a very good work out.I wil be happy to post a review of my thoughts.Thanks.
 
If you got the email I'll probably be sending it to you next but I still get to enjoy it for a few days longer.

I am able to play at my pool hall for free.So I will be able to give it a very good work out and let some others play with it as well.
 
Been playing with the cue again today at the pool room and this cue gets better with time and has one of the slickest best feeling shafts I've ever played with so now when I order I have to have one regular shaft and one OB 1.

I think the shaft was one of the things that most stood out and amazed me about Chuck's work...anybody who hasn't tried on of his cues and may be knocking it for the wood pin definitely needs to try one before they pass judgement. I'm sure the same cue they try will end up in their case :)

i might be wrong but i thought the shaft was a tiger shaft, not one of chucks

I can't speak for the double refund cue, but both of the cues he sent me had great playing shafts and Chuck even spoke to me a bit about his method of sealing the shafts. I think either the cue you're playing with is adultered and not 100% chuck or I'm completely crazy.
 
I've been at it again today for about 6 hours and I can't swear what shaft it is but I think it is a Chuck shaft and anyway it is a great feeling shaft and that ain't no bull.

I have never had the priviledge to play with Chucks cues. But I can say Chuck is a super guy and I have known him for about 13 years. He is a Jeweler by main profession so he has an eye and hand for detail.
 
I just got my Curly/Koa/Ivory from Chuck. It looks great and shipped very fast. As soon as I get a chance to really spank some balls around with it this weekend I'll post a full review. Do you think I should I review here or in the Wanted/For Sale section?
 
Just give it to us in the main forum, Chuck's pm to tell me where to ship the cue next also let me know alot of people wanted to see the big wood pin so he went to Olathe for the ring game. Lucky Chucky
