Hey Blud, I don't think this data is reliable. Nothing against the people who answered, but two people measuring the same cue will most likely get different results. Especially if they are using those plastic hole gages for the tip diameter. They flex quite a bit and depending on how "tight" of a fit you think they should have, you can end up with a large error. As far as weight goes, many people "know" how much their cues weigh, but then when they actually put them on a scale, their estimate was quite wrong.

If you want some type of average, you should probably go to your local rooms and weigh and measure each cue yourself, using your own instruments.

I wasn't complaining, just commenting on the accuracy of the numbers posted. They may very well indeed be accurate, but they might also be off a bit. Why don't you go to your local room, ask 10 guys their tip diameters and cue weights, then measure them for yourself to see how accurate they were.

There was an article about this on P and B mag a few yrs ago.
The pros did not even accurately give out their specs. Take Efren's specs on Inside Pool last month. I guarantee you his shaft does not have 13mm tip.
I have that Viking cardboard with cutout holes. They are way off.
But, at least this would average out what people think their specs are.
Mine is 12.85 mm and 19.3 oz.

I measure with a caliper and a digital scale.
Close enough for me.

The cutouts are bad 'cuz even if accurate (and most are), you can't get a 13mm shaft into a 13mm cutout...

help

Come On Guys, Help Me Out Here. Need Weights And Mm Sizes. Trying To Get At Least 100 Or So.
Blud

Playing Cue :20oz/ 12.75 & 13mm
Break Cue: 19.75 oz/ 13.25mm

Cue on order: 19.75/ 12.75 & 13mm

Averages

Looks like the cue weight is about the same as for the last 20 years or so. 19.33..

The shaft MM sizes have changed some, It's had a sizeable drop. I would think this is beacuse players of today [ many more players on an average ], are playing more 9-ball, which requires a not so stiff shaft, as shafts were with straight pool. You get more action with a bit smaller shaft.

20 years ago shaft MM's averaged, 13.00
today they average, 12.70

weight 20 years back, 19.3,
today, 19.3

Thanks for all who help with these averages. These averages, will go into to my book.[as soon as I get time to finish it]
