Just wanted to share my newest two cues with the friendly folks on this forum. I have a couple other cuemakers that I'll post on in the near future. I recently picked up a 10 pt. players cue. 5 high spliced cocobolo pts. with 5 low spliced ebony pts. into a birdseye maple forearm. The cue weighs EXACTLY 19.5oz with either shaft, and I mean exactly. Jeff takes a ton of time to insure that both shafts will play as similarly as possible. Joint is a brass 3/8-10 and I cannot feel the joint when screwed together. The shaft takes a good minute to screw down since they fit so tightly. Real precision. Ivory ferrules on both shafts with black fiber pads and med Moori tips. The cue plays great and feels wonderfully balanced and seems to float in my hands. The hit of the cue is medium-stiff in my opinion with lots of feel and the cue is DEAD straight. Need to pull out the measuring tools to detect anything other than perfect.
The break/players cue was a huge surprise. 6 points for a break cue!!! The shaft has a melamine ferrule, and the cue comes with a TAD tip which not only breaks well, but plays great too. The joint on this cue is a 5/16-18 and the shaft has a delrin insert. Once again, I cannot feel the joint when the shaft and the butt are screwed together.
Both cues have flawless Dupont clearcoat finishes. Hand buffed mirrored finishes without any scratches or flaws. Jeff takes extreme pride in his work and it really shows.
Hope my pictures do the cues justice!! They really are beautiful! Please email me at skcheng@optonline.net with any questions or comments. I'm not a dealer so I don't have any of Jeff's cues for sale, but I find Jeff incredibly easy to deal with and very reasonable with his pricing structure. One could do FAR worse in cuebuying land. I'm sure others will feel like I do if they pick up one of Jeff's cues.
