Hello fellas,

Im looking to have a cue made up for Mrs Dan.

When you are having one made, or making one for someone, what do they ask you for?

This is what Ive sent to a couple of cuemakers with limited response other then "call me" which I am not going to do until everything is set in place and I know exactly what I want, long distance aint cheap plus the Mrs will see weird non local numbers on the phone and she may have been sherlock holmes in a previous life, either that or a math teacher, she can put 2+2 together.

So here is what I put out there what I was kind of looking for and then asked for input.

So, I know some things about cues. Here are the things I want in a cue.

5/16 14 joint
16 OZ without any weight bolt (a couple of different weights so she can see what she likes)
with a wrap. leather or linen, not sure yet.
'soft' joint (no idea what materials are soft)
black collar, no ring.
4-6 points in the top part, whatever you prefer to make, mine has 4 and its pretty nice looking.
in the points, I want blue, yellow and white, can you do that?
black wood, or something very dark but not brown.
I dont really like the fancy rings My player doesnt have any, (joss MJ-205) and it looks ok.

Anyone interested? Reply in here with input and then we'll take it to PM/email.

Thanks in advance,
-dan

I'm not taking any orders now, but maybe I can help.
1) Be more flexable with the joint screw size. Qmakers may have one they prefer & really it only has one purpose., to hold the 2 pieces together. You would be better advised to ask for a "flat faced" or "piloted" joint. Also the screw size is not as important as whether she would want a weight "forward", Neutral or "butt heavy".

2) Only a Snooker player would play with a 16 oz. Q. If she were to settle on a 19 or 20 oz. as her favorite then you would have a HUGE weight distribution in the butt of this Q. Very butt heavy. It would be better to shoot for an 18 oz. cue. That way if 1-2 oz. of weight were to be added it would not make as much difference.

HOPE THIS HELPS...JER
