Cues with Bubinga

Does anyone have any cues with Bubinga in them and also pics of it........The David Tice I'm getting has Bubinga but I cant really find a picture of a cue with that type of wood....

Here is a picture of a Tice and Whisler that belongs to a friend of mine. I believe the Tice is bubinga and goncala alves. I don't know which wood is which. I hope this helps.

Bubinga Wood

I owned a Kenneth Murrell made from bubinga wood. A classic 4-Pointer and a great players cue.
The hit and the balance of this cue is great. I sold it 10 days before.

check out shorty's jack kompan cue. It has a huge piece of bubinga in it. The wood is just strinkingly gorgeous.

i am told that bubinga has a range of color.

my bubinga is golden oak-like with a tint of reddish. i like the fine lines that weave through this sample. and the grain is not overpowering like cocobola. none of the images do the wood justice. the color is beautifully rich........and there is a feeling of layers upon layers because of a "cross patterning" look in the wood.

the overall tone of the cue is much like the others, but i have a strong light on mine so it appears lighter

thanks. i stumbled on this one. it was being used a a bar-b-q skewer.
would fit perfectly in your collection of malis, but let me take it to an auto body shop and have them spray it in lipstick red first.

Attached is a Dave Kkiel cue with Bubinga...

my cue doesn't have the curly chatoyance of worminator's or joey's. i wonder if theirs' is standard for bubinga.

btw,,,,when i first saw my cue "naked"(it was unfinished when the cuemaker passed away), the bubinga was purpleish red. i was surprised(to my glee) at how it finished. the coloring ended up totally different.


ps...spray painting it lipstick red for icon will really do the trick

There are stright-grained bubinga, curly and pommelles.
The straight-grained one are the most stable and most common of course.
