Cuesmith threading attachment

My ? is how do you turn this device, do you attach a crank handle to it or what. Also how much would you sale one for that will fit on a Taig carriage.

I didn't add a crank handle to it. I just use the chuck to turn it. Of course you could add some kind of handle to it on the back end of the hollow shaft but it is not neccessary. If you thread a shaft you would need to mount a second chuck to it anyway. So you can turn it with that chuck.

As I wrote a couple posts before I won't sell it for the mentioned reason.

Chuck

Would that Bison chuck fit the standard cue smith head stock. I have a Mid size cue smith 6 ft bed large boar head stock, I have a hard time drilling and tapping hard ferrule material, No matter how tight I secure the ferrule stock it tends to still spin in the jaws of my chuck. Can you share some info on your Bison chuck, Cost, where to get one, Does it fit right on or did you have to make some modifications to make it fit your cue smith. maybe Chris can add some info as well.. Thanks Guys. Love my cue smith to death but not to crazy about the chuck...

You are right the gripping power of the standard chuck is not the best. This bison chuck only fits onto a standard small bore headstock, no modification needed. I directly bought it from Bison in Poland and it's great. Looking at the box it came in I can see it can be bought at toolmex.

I couldn't find a Bison chuck or similar which could be mounted onto a big bore headstock. If someone could build such a chuck please let me know!

If the material is spinning in the jaws of the chuck, wrap a small piece of leather around your work piece and most of the time that will secure the work piece good enough for me so it doesn't spin.

I don't think they are for sale.

Hi all,

Just wanted to show you the threading addon "in action", threading a shaft for the joint ring. Maybe some might find it interesting.
