Happy Tuesday!

When we launched the National Championship Series (NCS) last fall, the organization that had previously only been known as the BCA Pool League started using the corporate name CueSports International. The BCAPL is going great and we look forward to seeing anyone who plans to attend the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championship at the Riviera in May.

The reason for this was the NCS does not have any purpose or structural connection to the leagues - it is an open series for U.S players where participants do not have to be a member of any organization or league.

We've been working to expand the organization in a manner to offer more opportunity to players and to help expand the sport. We have also been aware that when rebranding a new name identity and starting a new division at the same time can be a bit confusing. Below are two links (one to the playbca.com and the other to the playcsipool.com) to the CSI organizational chart which I hope may help with any questions regarding who and what is CueSports International.

Looks like a very promising structure with a lot of potentially exciting opportunities!

Thanks for the detailed information.

One point: I didn't see the instructor program listed...

It's located under the Rules and Referee Program in Training.

:) thanks,
Holly

Hi James,

We are beginning to schedule qualifiers for 9-ball, 10-ball and 14.1 continuous. Announcements of dates and locations will be starting up again soon. There has been an announcement of the 2009 NCS 14.1 National Championship, which will be held at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ July 31 - August 2.

Thanks for the compliment about the NCS 8-Ball National Championship. It truly was a wonderful event. The Golden Nugget is a luxurious hotel without the super high pricing. It's elegant without being overdone. The ballroom is the perfect location for tournaments such as the NCS.

Thanks,
Holly

I mentioned in post #3 about the Referee training program. It was brought to my attention that I miss read the question. What was being asked was about the certified instructor program.

The Billiard Congress of America retained the instructor program when Mark Griffin purchased the BCA Pool League. It is through Bill Stock at CSI that the Referee certification and instructor training takes place.

If you are interested in the certified billiard instructor program contact the Billiard Congress of America. If interested in the BCAPL Referee training program please contact the CueSports Intl. office (702) 719-7665.
