Cuetec cue

I'm looking at a Cuetec cue stick but before I buy it I would like to see what
others think about them. I'm looking at the Mahogany series.
Any opinions?

I play with a cuetec and i really like it. Its a stiffer hit. It easy to keep the shaft clean while playing than a wood shaft (i have an sst shaft).

It is a cheap costing cue, but well constructed to play with. I have run over 60 balls playing straight pool with it. I think if you can get over how cheap the cue cost and focus on playing with it for a little while, you will like it. It gets the job done.

I seen a player run over 80 balls with a house stick. Does this mean that the house stick is a better cue?

If you like the way it plays and are comfortable with it buy it. You should not care what other player think.

If he should not care what other players think (your quote) why are you putting your 2 cents in?

The guy just wants some feedback. I wasn't comparing a house cue to a cuetec. I play with a cuetec and I like it.
I was just giving the guy some information not a comparison between a house cue and cuetec.

Why are you even commenting on what I say?

Bob,

seriously, look for something else. Unless you want to wear a glove the rest of your life when using that cuetec.

Not sure what your budget is, but if you can spend upto 200 or 300$ you have a wide variety of cues to choose from.

Good cues to start with are ones from Action, Players, Joss, Lucasi, Viking, and probably some other ones too.

If you get a Joss, lucasi or Viking, it should be the only cue you need to buy, unless you want to buy a more Pricey cue later in life.

I haven't shot with a Cuetec in years so my opinion is severely dated. Take it for what its worth. That said, I bought a Cuetec about.... geez..... seven or eight years ago. It was the first cue I ever bought. And I hated it. The shaft was always sticky.

 Most? I know that's not a huge feat for pretty good players, but I sure as hell hope that most people can't run 60. I've got long ways to go, if so.

The point that I am making is that you being able to run 60 balls has more to do with your skill than the cue stick that you are using. I am sure you can run 60 balls with any cue. If I bought or used your Cuetec it does not guarantee that I will be able to run 60 balls if I do not have your skills.

My view of Cuetec

I hit some balls with my friend's CueTec the other day (SST shaft) and I must say that I did not like it. The fiberglass coating makes the hit very hard, almost "ping-y".

I use a 314 shaft, and the switch to the CueTec was not a good one. In fact, I personally feel that any wood shaft is better than the SST as far as the feel of the cue goes.

Plus, as mentioned above, the tackiness of the shaft is annoying and closed bridges are almost impossible w/out a glove.

The grip portion of the butt is also a bit strange, and felt odd on my hand.

AzHousePro is using Cuetec Cue,and i bet his doing fine with it.Maybe u can asked him for more information about Cuetec cues.

Allison Fisher is a good player, and she's using Cuetec too.

Thank You

And I am sure she just walked into the CueTec Factory, and Randomly Picked one off the Rack.

Personally have hit a few ball with (2) CueTec, both had BAD VIBRATIONS, and the Construction Quality Control was POO POO............. ;)

Buy a Deangelo. Cheaper and better.

I had a Mahogany sneaky pete (cuetec) and liked it very much. I don't think the current sst shafts are too sticky. However, my hands do not 'sweat', so it works me.

I think the cuetecs are your best bang for you buck. I have said this before, but how can you beat them for under $65.

That being said, I wouldn't spend over $100 on a cuetec. I would put that money towards a better cue.

I've noticed that some Cuetec cues slide better than others, even within the SST shafts. The one I had didn't slide well at all, but I had a couple of teammates that they slid pretty well. So, it seems to be a hit or miss, but mostly miss.

If you're willing to spend, say $150 on Cuetec, I think your money might be better spent on a lower end Adam cue, or even a FURY cue. I suggest to hit before you buy. Then buy a JOSS off of eBay.

I feel the same way about the "pingy" feeling hit. Either save a little more for something else (I'd suggest a Joss) or get a different cue in the same price range. Even a Players will feel better than a Cuetec.

Actually Mike uses a Layani with a Predator shaft. He only uses a Cuetec for breaking. I use a Cuetec for breaking as well, but that's only for one shot per game. Ask Mike if he would use a Cuetec as his fulltime cue.

Also, do you own or have you ever shot with a Cuetec?. I own two of them, so I imagine I know enough about their cues.

Cool, then why not u help our dear friend, since u know enough about the cue :D

Thank You
