Cuetec Repair

My customer gave me a Cuetec shaft with the insert damaged beyond use. I used a damaged Cuetec shaft that still had a good insert as a donor to repair my customers. Will be testing it out tomorrow. I’ve had this repair done by a now deceased cuemaker, and I’ve been using the cue for 20+ years now without a problem, so I expect it to test out fine. I’ll let you know if it does not. My tool box is a little short on taps at this point, so making a new insert was beyond my ability (tool wise) at this time. I let my customer know before I did the job that I had other Cuetec shafts I could sell him if this did not work out, and he agreed to my terms.

Nice work.... What kind of cigar was that? lol I'm an avid cigar enthusiast and that label (even though unclear) doesn't look familiar haha.

Thanks Kim. Coming from you I take it to heart.

I make custom shafts and sometimes the cue has some bastard thread. If I can use the existing shaft I do it like you have shown.... I drill and bore a new shaft with a .600 hole about 2 inches deep. Then cut off the original shaft and use the joint end with the rings and threaded insert....... I turn the end to fit the hole in the new shaft and glue it up... it works great and no one can even tell.................

keep up the good work

Kim
