Great collection you've got there. There are a couple cuemakers there I would definitely like to get some cues made by!

Very nice collection. Is that a Schick titlist conversion with an ivory joint?

Yes, Don and I swapped a few cues. I really wanted to get his Searing but he wasn't going to part with that for the world (or maybe a Szamboti).

He's a good guy to work with, pretty fair. Those searing seem to be over priced imo

Don is a good guy. We have done some trades in the past. Most of the fun is just haggling with him.

I agree that Searings are overpriced. But they are in such demand and there are so few of them to be had that people are paying top dollar for them.

I've had 3 and they werent as easy to move as they seem to be.You cant get into one at a good price so there hard to get out of if needed. There was a bunch at valley forge from a fellow az poster and every body loved them until he said what he wanted for them. There's alot of funny auctions on ebay with inflated price ,probaly shill bidding going on

I've seen that one Searing on Ebay that has been listed a few times, even last week I think, there is definitely something funny going on with it.

I buy/sell/trade mostly because I simply like to get different cues and check them out. If I can make a few dollars when I get out of a cue that is a bonus, but that isn't my main motivation. That is why I did some of the trades with Don at the Open. He had the Ginacue and the James White and I've never had those cues before (or a Searing). The Ginacue is pretty nice, but not all that impressive in my opinion. The White on the other hand is exceptional. It may be one of the few cues I actually end up keeping.

EDIT - Just saw your previous post, that isn't the Searing I was talking about.

Sweet collection! I thought you sold the Gilbert break/jumps?

I still have them. Both are still like new with test hits only.

A lot of folks want them but nobody has pulled the trigger on any deals. I currently would part with them for $350 for the purpleheart and $375 for the tulipwood which also has a Moori III medium tip. They are priced at $400 new, and this particular tulipwood was priced at $450 when I got it.

For the money these are the best cues out there, no doubt about it. They look good, are well made, and play very nicely - simply put, they do everything well. I was playing with a rosewood one for the last year even though I had many other cues available. I would try out my other cues for a little while, but I always ended up back with the Gilbert.

Would you ever part with that Ted Harris cue? Is that Tulipwood? Wow what a nice radial pin on that cue. How does it play?

you talking about sherman? did he sell any of his szams? what's his searing like?

jeff

Yes, that Don.

He didn't sell any of his Szambotis that I know of (but I left Saturday night). I asked about the Szambotis he had - they looked really nice and I was somewhat curious about them (I'm not really into them though). I believe he mentioned that he was open to the idea of working a package deal with you on the ones he had. You might want to get a hold of him and discuss further details between yourselves.

The Searing was absolutely hideous, it isn't worthy of a second look. You wouldn't like it at all.
