Current Dilemma......

Life is not currently playing fair in that every time I get money stashed back to finish my pool table something breaks or another bill lands in the mailbox that was not expected... With the most recent being the GF being laid off and me having to carry the whole load....

Not I am not complaining because we are making it when lots of folks are not it's just that I am getting tired at seeing just the frame sitting in the man cave.....

Now I figure I have 2 choices... Take out a loan or sell off some of my pool related items to cover the cost of having Mark Gregory do my rails...... I don't like the loan but I like most of the "things" I own so it's a hard decision.....

Items in question:
Willie's Game Autographed by Willie with a certificate and polaroid of the signing.....

BK2 Used but in good shape... Was my playing/breaking cue for a number of years....

Original Patent Pending Sledgehammer with Samsara tip swap... Think these are getting hard to find....

1961 Abe Rich... Great example of the period and of Abe's Work... Also hard to find.....

Steve Urate Kingwood and Orangewood Custom... Great Pinoy cuemaker and this one has been in the states for years now and stayed straight as an arrow... What are the odds of getting another one that doesn't warp....

D19 McDermott Dice cue.... I have 2 exactly alike and about 7 shafts none of which stayed straight LOL... Loved these cues growing up which is why I have 2 but if money was different I might have 10....

JB Custom Case I won in New Jersey... Retails for 650 plus shipping and I have carried it since I won it at the One-Pocket... Don't see my spending that on a case for awhile soooo maybe this shouldn't go anywhere......

Delta 13 w/ carrying case that holds a full set of balls... Has the leather inserts and is from the 2011 US Open and is marked as such... Pretty sure there won't be another 2011 US Open and there were only 16 of these racks made......

Extra set of centennials... Can you really have an extra set? I have about 8.5 sets in a bucket downstairs for practice but no table keeps them all being extra LOL

Someone out there has to be able to talk me into just going to get a short term loan.......

I'm not going to reassure you that getting a loan is a good idea so you can get your table fixed, but it sounds like you are going to anyway. How long has it been in this condition?

If you have to use the money that you have saved because your GF got laid off then you're probably not in the position to make a monthly loan payment. That's my opinion and you can take it for what it's worth. I do hope your GF gets called back to her job or, even better, finds a new job paying double the salary she was making.

Sorry to hear of your woes, but I concur with the previous poster Allen Brown that taking a loan might be a mistake.

Even though you'll miss some of your items if you sell them, you won't accumulate debts at a time when you are uncertain of your ability to repay them quickly, debts that could possibly land you in an unenviable position should your GF's term of unemployment is a long one.

I would not get a loan or even fix my table if a needed bread winner is out of work.
I would however, sell off unneed items, and then spend the cash the day after she got a new job.......
