I've been playing pool for a number of years now. I talk to many pool players...And one thing many have in common is a certain # Pool Ball that gives them problems almost every game. Or when they miss a shot it is usually this certain pool ball.

Anyway...Just wondering if any AZB'ers have a Cursed # pool ball??

Mine is the 10 ball.

This usually happens when you have been cursed by a witch doctor. To dispel the curse you'll need to bring the following items with you to your matches...of course it wouldn't hurt to sacrifice a few chickens or a goat for those really important times at the table. :D

cursed

Yea im willing to bet that the "cursed" ball for alot of people is probly the last 3 cause shape on this balls is so improtant, but on the other hand i can see the 6ball being my "cursed ball" because of poor lighting in some pool halls and the color matching the cloth along the rails

8-ball for me. Sometimes I have trouble picking and staying with a contact point as I get down on the shot. I feel retarded when this happens.

I would have to say its the 8-ball, sometimes its difficult to see the edges particularly if you're playing on a table with crap lighting.

seriously though

I'm actually surprised by the range of answers.

I thought automatically, without question, it was the 6.

Lighting on a green table and all.

I have trouble with orange balls (5, 13) has to do wiht my eyesight in the red part of the spectrum--but strangely I don't really have a problem with the red balls !?!?!

The only problem I've had is with some cue balls on bar tables.

In league (especially when we play away) I always test the table beforehand to see if it's level by shooting object balls slowly. If they shoot straight, then I test the cue ball next.

Occasionally, the table is level but the cue ball will roll off. If so, I'll demonstrate this fact and ask if we can use a cue ball that I brought. I can only assume that some cue balls have a chunk of metal in the middle (for the magnetic return) that is off center and causes it to roll off (since the object balls don't).

The only ball I have trouble with it the CUE ball. That little basterd never does what I want him to do.

Seriously though, for me it depends on the game. Its usually the money ball that sharks me. Wether its the 8 or the 9. Ill run a beautiful rack and get straight in on the money ball and miss by a whole diamond. Now I take twice as long shooting it as I used to. No more taking it for granted.

And if the 6 is hard to see on green tables what about the 2 on a blue table? Or the 3 on a red table (ugh) and so on and so forth. Anyone have this problem with other cloth colors?
