Cushion nose too high

So I bought a used table from a mechanic. They had installed new rubbers, but I'm not entirely sure they did it right. I'm hoping for some suggestions that isnt redoing the rail rubbers and/or having the rails redone. The CAD is weak and everywhere says its a full recloth if I have to redo rubbers.

My cushion nose height is pretty off. It's at about 1 5/8ths as seen here (large image): here or here

Now the black mark isnt perfect but you can see that its still not even close. The table plays "okay". I don't really have anything to compare it to since I haven't been to a proper pool hall in ages.

Now is this easy to tell from these pics if it's maybe the wrong rubber profile on the rails? maybe they were glued on too high? Is it possible to "shim" the back edge of the rail to angle it downwards, and is there any detriment to doing so? Or is this just something I have to completely redo?

The table is a 8' Canada Billiards Oak Beauty. Measuring from nose to nose (width) it was 44". The nose to finished portion of the rail is less than 2" as seen here.

Honestly not sure if something was done wrong or it's just the table that I have.

Any help from the wonderful mechanics here would be greatly appreciated.

You are right about the wrong profile. It's clearly k66 on it while those rails are designed for k55.

Kid is right, k55 cushions are an 1/8" wider, and the nose height is an 1/8" lower.

You can get a good measurement using a quality steel ruler. If you have a steel sliding combination square set its even better, then you can put the square against the bed of the table so you know you are measure straight up and down. The problem with the tape measure is the tab on the end is sometimes not too accurate. When you are trying to read 1/16ths of an inch the tape measure tab can really affect the accuracy. Thats why many people use the 1" mark or a different point on the tape when possible to get a more accurate reading with a tape measure.

I'd try reaching the mech who sold you the table and ask if he could make it right. All you need is k55 rubbers and the noseheight will be just right. It's pretty clear from your pics that he didn't mess with the subrail and just put on the wrong profile. Run your hand under the cushion and you'll feel a hump where the rubber meets the wood. That and the 1" 7/8 on top says it all...

Would it not require new cloth too? Everywhere says new cloth, they dont have scraps, gonna cost $600+.

I've reached out to the mech. Says he's going to confirm that it needs k55 since he put k66 on it and thats what he does for all home tables.

I can confirm canada billiard uses k55 on all of their models. New cloth on rails only. If you have to pay for the parts you're looking at not more than 150$. Labor should be on him although i think he should have to do it all for free imo since he did it wrong. Sometimes you have to pay to learn...

Sorry may have misrepresented him. He is willing to fix it. I just wanted to know if it would need new cloth or if there was a way to do it with old cloth. All the mechanics around me have said that they will only do new rubbers with a full recloth.

No need for a full recloth. The cushion being bigger will make it real hard to put the old cloth back on the rail. Not saying it's impossible but if i was him, i'd bring a set of rail cloth
