I have a preferance for box style cases but the quality of them in general
is crappy, the only decent one seems to be the Haliburton line which is very
expensive and way too industrial looking.

Anyone building custom wooden cases?

thanks, I was thinking also maybe I could get a cabinet maker or
carpenter to build one for me.

there was one guy.. i used to see them on ebay alot being resold..

i wanna say Gator cases or something.. i think he was from down south..
used really nice wood.. and had nice corners and even inlayed them...

really nice stuff.. if i ever remember the name i will post it..

Are you thinking of Florida Fred? He made box type cases made from nice hardwoods. I don't think he does that anymore. If you look at his old website, floridafred.com, you find that he is in an entirely new business, nature photography. I'm just guessing, but I think maybe his son picked up the website. The picture on the home page shows a pretty young guy.

Wolfbite Cue Solutions offers nice box cases. The link is below. I bought cue tip shapers from Big John at Wolfbite and was very satisfied with his service and the product. I think he's a good guy to deal with. Here's the link:

I am in the process of building a case for myself out of mesquite. I will post some pics when I'm done. I made a case for my brother out of aromatic cedar last year, but he is currently in ecuador, so I have no way to get any pics of it. I would consider making some more cases for the right price.
