1) What is the normal going rate for a Thomas 2X4? I have seen that IndyQ has some for $695 but that seems pretty high and I have read that they do tend to charge higher then normal amounts.

2) With regards to durability which case between Thomas and Whitten would last the longest? Or would they be about the same? Would a case by either of these makers last 20+ years of fairly regular use? Both the interior and exterior of the case is of concern.

3) For anyone who has experience with both Whitten and Thomas cases what are the advantages and disadvantages of each? Which would you say protects the cue better, which is better built, is one more practical in day to day use then the other?

4) Do either sell cases at the US Open?

What I have heard ...

from seeing them and from other players having them
is that I would rate Whitten above Thomas, although
both are nice cases. Whitten's are spring loaded, which
a lot of players prefer. I have known guys that have had
Whitten's for 20 years with no complaints, but I have heard
a couple of complaints about Thomas cases.

After seeing the great pictures of that Black Cherry Vintage case
from Jim Murnak that was reviewed on here, and the quality and looks it has, I would chose it over a Whitten or Thomas.
