It's amazing what we can do with technology these days....
I have designed a cue that I have a great cuemaker working on right now (he's on the board). Through a long process of exchanging emails and phone calls, he and I have come up with what I perceived would be my dream cue.... only problem was I had absolutely no idea what it would look like all together. I had visions, but nothing to really look at.
In looking at another thread, someone had used Photoshop to create a cue design. Since I can't use that program (I've tried!), I sent him an email with my description as given to me by the cuemaker. There will be slight changes to the pic (longer points and D/E silver double rings), but this is pretty much what I have on order. I told the guy who did the Photoshop work (timbo.hobo - thanks!!) that it was going to have a white buttcap, a black joint w/ white joint work - and this is what he came up with. I don't know if it is what the cuemaker has in mind, but I'm pretty sure he won't do me wrong.
How soon do you think (if ever) it will be protocol to use a program for visualizing cue designing?
Opinions? I was shooting for a simple cue, the older 4pt veneered look. Something that the schmoe player won't pay any mind to, but to a trained eye, will appreciate its beauty.
