Custom cues on layaway?

Hi,

There are so many custom cues that I want north of $3k as of late. Ones from Gold Rush, Aaron Astle, Zen and North Demon come to mind.

Is there anyone or place that offers these on a layway plan? Like an "X" amount non-refundable deposit down?

Thanks,
In reading your post I have a Richard Black and a Bill Stroud Joss West both in like new shape that I am selling and would work with you if interested....thanks

Imo, layaway is asking for complications for both parties.

Save the money, buy what you can afford when you can afford it.
Back in my hookers-n-crack days that was my motto, buy it when u got it. ;) Too many way for deal to go sideways, you'd need some stipulations as to fees for taking too long, backing out, etc. If i was selling anything i wouldn't use LA as an option. Save your schekels then go shopping.

Cornerstone Cues, apparently now inactive, used to accept installment payments but of course, you did not receive the
cue until it was paid for. I bought my Ed Prewitt from Bill on installment since my trade in (Paul Mottey) only covered 1/2 of the Prewitt cue price. Over the course of 6 months, I paid off the balance and received the cue which is still with me.
I ever had any issues with Bill Grassley and purchased several cues from him. Every purchase always went seamlessly.
Nice Axe!!

I hear there are plenty of cuemakers who will take money down and money each month. Some of them will even deliver a cue eventually.

North Demon took a 50% deposit; with the balance paid when the cue was completed.

Tascarella takes a 20% deposit.

Both guys move pretty fast, all things considered.

Two excellent cue makers so selling them should be relatively quick when priced right. I have one major regret about a Richard Black cue I bought and returned due to the weight being heavier than I wanted. I wish I had that cue and the
weight wouldn’t matter. The RB cue was offered for sale by Cornerstone Cues and it weighed 19.25 ozs. and I wanted
18.5 ozs. There wasn’t any weight bolt to remove but it was a rare cue build according to Richard whom I spoke with to
see if he could make the cue lighter. Nope, it is what it is was his reply but he said he could build me one but the wait time was longer than I expected so I didn’t act. The cue was Richard’s Bushka design and it had a flat ivory joint which
Richard said he made very few….he said likely made only a few Bushka cues with a flat ivory joint versus piloted ivory and of course, mostly 5/16x14 steel joints. I kick myself over letting that cue get away….it was really a rare cue but after a week, I returned the cue for a credit and used it to get a Joss West cue I later sold…wish I kept that RB Bushka cue.

Thank you. I actually found one place/person who says every cue in his inventory can be financed or put on Layaway. It's name is "Crossroad Cues".

I'm looking at their FB Page (https://www.facebook.com/crossroadgallery/followers) and their website of crossroadcues.com now and they state" "payment plans/layaway on ALL products" but every single time I'm interested in a cue, and reach out, they tell me "no" payment plans or layaway for this "particular" cue. I've shown interest in literally 7 cues - same answer. False advertising if you ask me. Too bad, as they have some really nice customs.
Hello, this is Eddie P the owner of Crossroad Cues. Just FYI the last thing we do is any type of false advertisement. If you have contacted us before and I didn't want to do a " layaway " on any specific cues it's because we require 25% -50 % down to do a " layaway " and you may not have been willing to do that amount. Yes it is also true that my adds on fb and our website Crossroadcues.com all do state that we offer flexible payment plans, layaway and financing options because we do! Whenever someone does not want to do a large down-payment on a cue or a case, the option to do the payment plan with the financing company on our website is always available! People buy cues and cases from us on a daily basis using the flexible payment plans and financing because it's a great opportunity to purchase a desired item with very little cash up front and even get zero % interest!
Feel free to check out these options on ( any products on out website at any time. ) If you have any questions or interest in a cue or case, feel free to give us a call anytime. You will see a ( Tremendous) amount of perfect reviews and positive feedback on us all over the place because we run a very honest and reputable business. Thanks - Eddie P @ Crossroad Cues. Eddie is great to deal with.

I think 'lay away' is deader than HulaHoop. Don't know any one/place that still does it. Used to a bunch when i was kid(60's-'70s).
Back when people didn’t have the information now they were easier to close and pre-sell something based on scarcity.

“I don’t want to miss out” was the mind set of the consumer in the past. So to lock in a purchase they would make a deposit to hold the item until they were whole and could buy it.

2 things in my option changed that concept.

Credit cards and the internet.

It’s clear the supply chain is stronger now. And it’s possibly to shop anywhere so no need to lock anything up.

And credit cards are the backbone of the American economy so everyone is always whole and besides who wants to wait?

That’s what killed lay away imo

What was the question?

Fatboy 😂😂
