custom cues...

when i started playing pool i used a $50 players butterfly splice ''sneakypete''. after i learned a little bit, a friend of mine gave me a 314 shaft to throw on it. after about a year or so, i moved on to a custom jacoby cue with a Z2 shaft. I shot with that for about a year now, and after gambling with someone who has been playing for longer than ive been alive (stupid i know) i lost a good amount of money and was forced to sell the cue (lesson learned). Right now i shoot with a plainjain joss with my buddys 314-2 shaft, but i want to move up.

i dont know too many good cue makers except mike webb, who happens to live down the road from me, so i was hoping for some suggestions on a nice custom cue. Im looking at a budget of about $500, as i dont want to spend too much - I've only been playing seriously for about 2 years and im still learning alot.

any suggestions would be helpful, thanks for your time!

Jim Lee is great! He is makes a great looking and performing cue, and he is awesome to deal with! There are several John Robinson cues for sale on E-bay. Great playing and one has the best birdseye you'll ever see. In your price range with 1 shaft. The Robinson design is different. If you need a Predator, you'll have to have him build you a shaft from a partial. Check them out.
