I seem to recall we had someone here on AZB that made and sold custom joint protectors. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Jim Baxter though. The guy I'm thinking about had some " dice " Jp's. Anyone remember who / what I'm talking about? Also if anyone that makes JP's that I could send some dyes of my choice to be made up please feel free to chime in, thanks!

I'd like to find some high quality polished aluminum joint protectors in 5/16 x 14 thread. Not the China ones sold by all the billiard supply houses.

Seems to me if you can find a smaller machine shop that knows what they are doing would be a good place to source something like that and totally just guessing but I'd imagine they would be full on custom by your design and $100 bucks if not a lot less.

There is a Horseshoe in Baltimore these days? When did that happen and where is it?

Always thought the inner harbor would be a great place for a casino - you could rob folks from NY, Philly and DC all at one place.

I am still surprised that Hooters got to build a joint on the water there.

Yup. It opened in August of 14 I believe. It's on Russell st. Right where 295 dumps into the city, right by the Ravens stadium but not exactly the Inner Harbor - it's WEST SIDE LOL. It's not really on the level of AC or Vegas but imo it's pretty nice and I like it alot. I like it better than MD Live actually. It's 3 stories, plenty of table games and a respectable Poker room. Lots of nice restaurants as well.

Back in 10 and 11 the Hard Rock was gonna add a casino to there restaurant in the Inner Harbor but couldn't get it approved because the fix was already in. Don't know how familiar you are with the West Side but MGM is going to build a huge casino right on the water in Westport.

Thanks - next time I'm around there I know where I'll be staying. The MGM property will be off the charts, that's how they do things ... the poker room at their Las Vegas casino is too loud - not isolated well enough from the casino - but the action there has always been strong.

Glad to here about all this, I had no idea.

I've made a few sets of JP's now, sold a few and they seam to be catching on. I'm not going to take orders but if you let me know what your wanting I'll make them to as close as I can imagine and I'll let the public know when in they'll be up for viewing and sale.

Thanks guys.

Couple things fyi 99, the horseshoe doesn't have its own hotel here. They have a deal with a Holiday Inn right next door. I've stayed there a few times, rooms are clean and decent but nothing great and def not a " casino room " as if you were in AC or Vegas.

MD Live didn't have a hotel of its own either but they are in the process of building one and I'd imagine it should be open within next few months.

Now MGM, that's a bit of a story. To the best of my knowledge it has been planned since around 09. Also it's my understanding all of the permits and zoning have been taken care of. All of the needed real estate has been purchased. Everything is in order and all they need to do is break ground, which they have yet to do and I have no idea why. But to the best of my knowledge it is still a go so we will see I guess.

My wife bought a few hundred miniature dice and my doughter in law was playing around with them in the tops of j/ps . She filled the tops with clear resin , only picture I could find did not have the clear resin . She did initials and stuff . I might try a couple sets , there are red , blue , white and not sure what other colors we have .

Found another picture .
