Hi,
This case was built for a customer in Singapore who had a lot of special requests. I couldn't do all of them in the space of time I had but we got to most of them.
First he wanted a zipper top AND a removable top. The zipper top was to have two functions, one to keep the cues doubly secure and two, to have a place to put silica gel packets in order to remove excess moisture from the case (at least that's the theory of what he hopes will happen).
Then he wanted an extra place to hold just chalk in the upper pocket that would be easy to get to. Next double zippers on the upper pocket so it's easy to get into as well (that one was easy to do).
Then a rubber base on the bottom so that the case will stand perfectly flat and not move. No problem there.
Finally, some kind of flip out cue holder so the cues can lean securely against the case when they are not in use. I drew up a sketch of an idea that will probably work but I didn't find a practical way to do it in the time I had to finish the case.
Since I didn't want to spoil the look of the case with a metal latch we added a custom built magnetic latch to the upper pocket - all hand sewn - and works great - won't open accidentally.
I also was able use the new tube design I thought of years ago. This is where I cut out about 2/3 of the tube and leave enough to support the sidewalls of the case. This way it's easy to get to the cues in a tube case but allows for the padded protection inside the tubes that I like.
The leather is 6oz veg tan dyed to a deep cordovan color.

Already had another request for this zipper top + removable lid configuration. Thanks Kai Lee!
