i like to take the simple approach to most things . if it not yours don't
work on it, and if you are that serious about playing pool you should

In general I agree with that, but the discussion is shaping a tip and not sanding the shaft down .5 MM.

As an example ... if I rent concrete saw with a dull blade am I wrong to replace the blade, or should I just be satisfied that I rented a near useless tool?
