Hey cuemakers I have a question for you all. I have a plain Predator 5k2, no inlays or points. It's an eyesore in my opinion. I was wondering is it possible to send the butt to a cuemaker and have him hook it up? To put some fancy inlays and ring work or does that have to happen before they seal the wood the 1st time. If it is possible would it be expensive? And would it change the way the cue plays? Thanks for your time.

It would not be worth the trouble or expense in my opinion. You have to understand, that those cues are not Ebony, they are in fact Black painted Maple. To do what you want to do, the finish would need to be striped, all work completed and then restained black. The reason you have to use Black is because the Maple used in those cues is very unsightly, so it must be completely covered up. Then the cue will need to have new finsh applied and then re-wrapped. Now I charge $120 for a basic refinish with a re-wrap, then with the work, most likely another$100 to $150 Minimum, depending upon the materials used. However, I would not want to work on that model, I have refinished a number of them andthe stain or paint they use has to be completely removed and replaced.

Sorry just being honest.
