Customizing a Production Cue

Looking for some advice. I just have a Mezz ZZ-31 cue, the forearm is a Birdseye maple, no inlays. The butt is black with some inlay work. It's one of their most affordable cues.

I would like to have the forearm re-stained dark and finished to match the butt of the cue better. I don't know much about getting this done, and looking for some direction.

What matters most to me is that the quality matches Mezz as close as possible. I realize it's a bit of an odd request. Would there be any shops out there who can provide such a service?

No lrob with a restain, as opposed to adding inlays or changing the joint.

That said, i say dont. Just applroach the cue from an "it is what it is" view.

You wi never run ot of things to tweak if you allow it to be an oltion.

one thing i have learnt after years of cue collecting is that 'If It An't Broke Don't Fix it'.

If there is no evidence of a real problem, and fixing the "problem" would not effectively improve Wikipedia, then don't waste time and energy (yours or anybody else's) trying to fix it.
On the other hand, if something is slightly broken in a way that you care about, and fixing it improves the encyclopedia a little, then feel free to fix it.

You can find somebody to do it.

I really wouldn't bother though. As far as I can see the forearm does match the butt on that cue. I went and looked at pictures. What am I missing?

If you were not willing to put more into a cue in the first place, then why throw so much more money at it?

Of course, it is purely up to you. It's your cue. If you really want it done I am sure you can find people to do it and finish it to a high grade.

What matters most to me is that the quality matches Mezz as close as possible.

It's a production cue. I highly doubt matching the quality of the finish will be an issue for a good cue repairman.

There are many cuemakers and shops who can do this. What is your budget. You mentioned, this is one of the more affordable production models, it may make more financial sense to trade and get the style you like.

I would look into purchasing another more lavish production cue & use that one for my Break Cue JMHO
