I'm sure no expert but I made up a 110* bit for just this purpose. Allows you to run passed the 'touch' point but at less depth then using a 90* therefore a tad more stability when doing so.
It's a simple adjustment to the rest of the jigs for adding the veneers but otherwise the rest is straight forward.
