cyanoacrylate question

Does anybody have any suggestions what to use to polish up a cue after it is finished with cyano. I'm looking to give it a nice deep shine and remove the tiny scratches. Thanks in advance

I wet sand with 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500, then 3000 before using rubbing compounds and polishes. There are no scratches when polishing. If you have any scratches you probably need to continue wet sanding length wise down the cue until there are no ripples or imperfections in the finish.

Cue componants sytem 5 actually works well with a super glue finish. I would sand to 1200 or 1500 then use system 5. Joe sells it for about $35.

I use Super Glue on many of the cues I build but, I am in the middle of switching to an Automotive Clear Coat made by Sherman Williams. To prepare the Super Glue finish for polish I also wet sand starting with 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000. However, I do not use any rubbing compound, I use Maguires polishing Creams in the grits pictured below.



You can but the above products almost anywhere, and they are designed for automotive finishes, you have to apply them while your lathe is spinning, and I can tell you that the finish will look like wet and crystal clear.

I agree there should be no scratches before polishing, and Joes system 5 works very well.
