Well ladies and gents i am glad to be the first to let you knoiw that i received a cheque today from the IPT.
The amount is the same as the other instalments 11%(roughly),so i hope everybody else receives their cheque shortly.
P.S. i know this is only a small step in the right direction but every little step in the right direction has to be a huge positive.

These payments are being made under duress. It is all part of his "I don't want to go to Federal Prison" agenda. It is not because he is such a good guy and wants to satisfy everyone. These payments are fear driven.
If all goes well, everyone will have received payment in full roughly one year after the completion of the tournament. Now that's what I call prompt payment, don't you.
KT works on the "float" plan. He is using the money coming in from his latest scam (the Weight Loss book) to pay his old debts. Forget about the 100K guarantee or the residual monies. It ain't gonna happen.
For the players something a little more customized may be more helpful in their time.

As employees or stakeholders of the IPT the players have the right to request information and demand explanations. The channels to contact the person frontrunning the IPT organization I think has more than one phone line.
Billiard publications have been showing signs of their discontent with the players situation, by printing letters.
KT is a guest in the pool world and as a guest he surely has spilled a good amount of fine wine on the rug.
The rug owned by the pool players. Hasn't it always been the pool players traveling and doing exhibitions or tournament matches. Aren't they the ones with the first hand experience of what things do get done and what things are expected to happen.
They are a resource which may not have been fully tapped other than for their ability to put up money and play in tournaments by the IPT.
The IPT is a players tour run by an unknown. An unknown who hasn't done anything new, in terms of bringing the billiards industry to new levels. If she (yea she KT) can't do that then how do you expect the money to come pouring in.
After all what made the IPT go was the willingness of the players. It was the players that made the event an "event." The players have seen it all from the limitations to the bubbling ideas of the future. It really is up to the players to decide how things shouldve been done and how things are to be. After all it is their job and they are their own boss.
There sure are a lot of bosses in this industry, it could help if they talked to one another.

I read this thread to share the joy of the players being paid and to admire the herculean effort of the promoter to cause this to happen. I do not read this thread to read nasty comments from terribly unhappy people.
I do not know what is wrong with you. I invested in the IPT myself by paying to see an event but a number of people are putting a bad taste in my mouth.

with the 4 million plus paid out thus far, one can only wonder what the IPT would have been had they been a tad more conservative with the prize money, especially considering that a 500 000 pot will pretty much get you all the world's best, anywhere, any time

Okay, so maybe I agree with you, but can't we just let folks enjoy the moment for a short while? Reality can be so depressing sometimes.
Listen, I hope all the players get paid the full three million. They earned it!
But as far as the motivation behind these payments, I remain skeptical. I see it as hush money, nothing more, nothing less.
