what are some good places to play in the Dallas area close to DFW airport , and maybe find some action or even cheap sets? Im suppose to be in Dallas area from 4/5-4/8 for work but may come in a few days early if there are some nice pool halls around there???? I also would like to find one with Diamond tables prefered any info would be great and thanks

There are not any Diamond tables around that I know of. There really isn't a pool room close to DFW either - again, that I know of. There are some decent 9fts at Rusty's in Ft. Worth, but I don't know if you want to travel that far. You can find action (usually best on Wednesdays) at CK's on Skillman in Dallas, but that isn't close to DFW either...

There's a poolhall called Rob's Billiards within 5 miles of the DFW airport. The address is 13930 Trinity Blvd., Arlington Texas. Not the greatest tables (every one has a different color cloth), but they play okay. Not much action to be found there. It is probably the closest poolhall to the airport that you will find. If you PM me a day or two before you come, I may donate a $20 bill or two for some afternoon cheap sets (I'm easy pickens). Just not on the 7th as that is my wife and I's anniversary.
Rusty's Billiards at 3151 S. Cooper in Arlington is where you can probably find the closest action. It's about 18-20 miles from the airport. Open 24 hours a day. Nice tables (some 9'ers).

I will definetly pm you when I come out that way........I like playing one pocket and nine ball/ten ball cheap is fine just want something to do and enjoy meeting/playing new people It is possible that I may actually be out there closer to the end of April but I will keep you posted. Is there any pool rooms with diamond tables out there......I havent had the oppurtunity to play on diamonds much so wanted to try and find one (I usually play on GC3s with double shimmed pockets) Thanks and I am easy pickens as well so it should be fun

There is a Fox 'n Hound in Lewisville that would only be about 15 or 20 minutes from the airport that has Diamond tables. The only downside is that they are 8 foots, although I believe they do have (1) Oversize 8 foot.
It is a nice place to just play but probably not a lot of action although I am sure you could find some if you hit the right night.
Directions would be to take 121 North out of the Airport to 35 North and take Corporate Drive exit; it is right off to your right. Pretty easy to get there from the airport; however, again, it is probably 20 minutes from there.

If I can make a good game I may but for any serious action I would probably rather play at a pool room instead of someones own private table..... I have made that mistake once before in Atlanta at Mr Cues I was giving the guy the 8 at the pool room and winning.....after room closed he beat me at his house....I know I play best on my GC at home as well........
If you're traveling up north (Denton, TX about 25-30 minutes driving north of I-35 once you got off 121 from DFW), you can drop by the student union of the University of North Texas. They have a good amount of 9ft tables on campus. The last time I was there, the tables were well maintained. Atmosphere was also really nice: dark and quiet.
Not sure if you could get any action though. The last time I was there I managed to played some cheap sets with college students. Mostly friendly sets, but there was a bout it.

CK's is a pool room that has a bar (lol). It is mostly 8fts but there are (I think) 4 or 5 9fts as well.

lol.... I just like to play cheap sets even and if we played anything other than that I might need a ball! lol ..........I am just starting to learn one pocket and kinda hooked on that game right now and loooking forward to coming out I will pm you when I do
