Has anyone attended the Cue-Tech Pool School (no affiliation with cuetech cues) in Richardson Tx? I'm considering doing one of their three-day classes, but it's pretty expensive. Here's their website: www.poolschool.info

thanks

Absolutely the best money I ever spent to improve my game. They can help you with many aspects of your game , whether your a beginner or a pro. The video segments will show you things that you would have never known otherwise. Five stars as far as I'm concerned.

Its $665 bucks for the 3-day advanced class, you can e-mail the dude who runs it for more info. Might not be a lot to some people, but for a poor college student like me...

What's the cost? I can't find cost information on the website.

I went...
I went again to the Expert Class...
I went again to the Instructor Certification Class...
I went again for Instructor Upgrade...
Now I go from time to time to assist RandyG and the rest of the staff teaching classes...

Best money I ever spent related to my pool game.

I wouldn't go...unless you are serious about wanting to permanently improve your pool game.

I wouldn't go...unless you are willing to commit to practice the things you will learn, over three days.

I wouldn't go...if you think spending more money for a better cue, shooting a million balls, or gambling, is the route to a better pool game.

I wouldn't go...unless you have an open mind, and are willing to leave your ego at the door.

That "dude who runs it" is none other than Randy Gottlicher, probably the most respected instructor in this country, and perhaps anywhere. The money is nothing, compared to the knowledge you gain, which will serve you for the rest of your life. Get a job and save the money...go to poolschool.

Hm, from the tone of your post it sounds like you thought I was somehow disrespecting the school and it's owner, and suggesting that it wasn't worththe money. How about I clarify for you?

I have a job, but I also go to school and thus I have to be careful where I spend my money. Not everyone has as much money as you aparently do, so the money isn't "nothing" to me. I have never spent that amount of money on a cue or gambleing. It only makes sense then that I would check with others who have attended this school to see if it's worth it before spending what to me is a considerable amount of money.

Anyway, from what you guys are saying it definatly seems worth it. Thanks for the info.

JMB,

I went to one of RandyG's traveling pool schools and what Scott is saying is that it's a lot of information and it will be up to you to put it to use after the school is over.

Seriously, I didn't step into a pool hall for about 6 months after I attended and spent 2-3 hours a night working on what I learned.

Took the class when RandyG came to my local area last June.
Best thing I ever did for my game!
Will gladly take the next class when he comes back up in the area.
If you are not close to Texas, figure out their road schedule.

And the best part of the deal is you can take the class you paid for over again to refresh for the next class and it is absolutely FREE for the retake.

Best deal out there!
Good Luck.

i did a long write up on my cue-tech school experience, do a search on my name, it was back in sept of 05, i cant say enough good things about it.

im going to the expert class this year and 2 guys i shoot with have decided to goto the advanced class now after seeing how my game has improved.

I was planning on attending but getting laid off work really changed my plans.
From what I have been told Randy is a fine teacher. IMO Being
there for three days and having someone to watch and critique
for that period of a time is worth it. Years ago I tool a 3 hour(i think)
group lesson with Grady while he was out doing exhibitions. I learned alot but noticed that had it even been an hour or three longer he would have been able to give more instruction and attention to what he was teaching.

Hopefully within the next 4 months or so I will be able to get to Dallas and
take the course. It might be a decent size sum at first for the lessons but
IMO they would pay for themselves easily.

IF you attend please post a review here for us to read.
Good Luck
Frank

Randy G. and Leslie Rogers gave me the best value for my money I have ever spent. They have a great way of turning the mirror on you so you see your own strengths and weaknesses. I have never attended another instructors school, so cannot make any comparisons. All I will say is I went to their school in Dallas ten years ago and still practice what they taught me. I found it to be a great deal.

I went when I was in college as well. I had a part time job and saved up for a little over a semester. I went from a B to an A- player in about a year after attending. I worked on everything they told me, used the manual they gave me and spent at least 2 hours of ever day that I played to practice the things they told me. Most people at my college told me that my game completely changed in a year. I played lots of tournaments over that year and placed in the money about 60% of the time. I say that over that sumer, I almost won back all the money I invested in the school. I would highly recommend. In fact once I finish grad school, I may go back.

First off, having met and spent some time with Scott, I think his post didnt come out the way he meant. I assure you he wasnt trying to insult you or your intentions in any way, just saying that if you are willing to apply what you learn it can be the best money you ever spend. He just has his own way of saying it LOL.

Second, I have heard nothing but good things about Randy's pool school. And one of my goals for the near future is to attend the class myself. I have worked with some of the top instructors in the country to improve both my teaching and my game. Randys is next on my list :D

Woody

Well worth the money.

:D Two of my friends from New Orleans attended the school with Randy and I got my money's worth in the first five minutes I was there and I strongly urge those who are serious about their pool game attend Cue Tech and take advantage of Randy's vast knowledge and teaching ability.
Great guy too ! :p :D :p

I can only repeat what others have posted. Anyone who is serious about improving is going to find 3 days with Randy to be priceless!!
