Dan Dishaw - Custom Pool Cue Maker - Cuemaker's Corner

Dan has made some beautiful designs over the years. He also has a knack for coming up with some of the best materials.

I bought my Dishaw used, from the second owner, in 1994 '95. I know both previous owners. Dan made me two new shafts and eventually rewrapped the cue for me. The cue played as near my previous Southwests as anything I could find that I could afford at the time. I still have the cue and play with it almost daily. Dan has tried to buy it back from me several times;) He also talked me out of replacing the leather wrap with Irish linen three times. Definitely one of the best, if not the best playing cue I've owned, and I've had quite a few.
Almost forgot, Dan told me that my cue was one of the first 12 cues that he made.

Custom Pool Cue Maker Dan Dishaw - Cuemaker's Corner with Inside POOL Magazine columnist Fred Agnir.

It was a very interesting pseudo-impromptu interview. Although I do wish I had more time to prepare, I also occassionally like the rush of getting in front of a camera speaking into that evil invention called a "microphone."

The magazine had already done an article on Dan Dishaw prior to my writing for them, so unfortunately, I am unable to do an article on him for them. So, when JRCalvert asked me to do a video interview of a cuemaker, I thought Dan was the perfect choice.

Guy's, I've been to Dan's shop. There is a reason his cues are incredibly well made. Lots of talent and the best equipment! I wish I could afford one.

Didnt you just win the CNY tournament at Hippos?

Dan is also a world class casemaker. He makes flight cases for pool cues and I think it's safe to say that his cases protect more high dollar cues than everyone else's combined.

Is Matty a big fellow, glasses, thin on top, hangs out at Caps frequently, plays with a Jim Buss Titlest conversion?

I don't remember him as being what I would describe as a "big" guy. I remember he did wear glasses and might now be thinning on top. If you go to Cap's, ask somebody, he's well known there. I have no idea what he would be playing with now, I haven't seen him since before I moved to South Carolina in '97.

Sounds like Matty. He said he ordered a custom Danbuilt, and he didnt like it because it hit TOO MUCH like a SouthWest Cue and sold it cuz hes not use to the southwest style hit.
