Danny Diliberto says the best stuff

Danny> Not bad luck...just a bad shot.

Danny> It takes a lot of work to make things look easy.

Both of those can be 100% true and accurate. People b*tch all the time (myself included) about their bad luck when it wasn't bad luck but a bad shot.

The second quote is even more true. It takes a ton of work for SVB (for example) to make this game look easy.

Danny & Billy

I like Danny when he works with Billy but when he works with guys whose game he don't respect he talks to them like they are dogs, which in my opinion is way out of line. MArk Wilson, Tonny Annigani, Dave Maddix, speak up to this dinosaur and demand some respect !!

Links?

I'm intrigued... Anyone have any youtube links to matches with this pair commentating? A youtube search yielded nothing useful...

ACCUSTATS tapes....I agree, Danny and Billy work well with each other.
...late 80s....Jimmy Fusco and a young Johnny Archer....
...they played under their ability....tough match to commentate on....
....Billy and Danny made it magic.

if danny is US open commentary standard you have no real clue about pool or what a professional sporting event is supposed to look like

dont care for him for the same reasons other threads have mentioned however when he was belittling the KO brothers and basically racially stereotyping them live he lost any respect from me

Pretty much this^

But the dinosaurs won't let go.

I feel pool NEEDS 'color commentary'....
...baseball was enriched by Dizzy Dean, Yogi Berra,.....

But pool needs pro commentators as partners...those who speak to the general public.
....and neither should try to do the other's job.
