Danny Harriman?

I was watching 7ball on ESPN today with Danny Harriman. I had never seen him before. Does anyone know what he is doing now? As crazy as this sounds, my jaw dropped the floor when I watched him play...last week at a local sports bar with a few really nice 9' tables that I usually go to, there was this guy there who couldn't miss...he was probably the best guy I have ever played, and I have a sneaking suspicion that it was him. This guy looked very similar to him and had a playing style that was exactly the same. This was in Western PA, while playing the guy I talked to him, asked him if he was local and he said wasn't, he travels around a lot and this was his first time in there.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

He is a fantastic player. I understand Danny was a child prodigy and plays in the UPA events. I saw him at the Bicycle Club UPA event here in January. He's silky smooth, controlled, and makes beautiful run outs. He also plays in the World Pool Championships in Great Britain. He's from Missouri - don't know his age but I would guess around 30.

Were you gambling with him? Danny won the Derby City Bank tournament in 2003. He's an excellent player. I also don't know his whereabouts at this time. Wish I could help more. Sam

no...no gambling we were just shooting around for fun, i recognized he was way better than i was. it would be foolish to play someone like that for money unless he gave me quite a bit on the wire :)

I was at the sudden death 7ball tournamnet in baltimore, and i had a chance to meet Danny he was friendly and signed my tournamnet program. I was impressed with his game he playes good postion, He had the break of the tournamnet where he made 6 balls on the break!!!!

i first saw harriman at the Sands tourney in Reno. Actually, i've seen him a few times there. Also saw him once within a few months of Bucktooth's first opening. He was travelling with a stakehorse but didn't get down that day. That was long ago- I would've said '93 but after hearing everyone else, i suppose it could have been later. not later than '96 though... somehow those '90s run together in a blur...

I am from St. Louis and Danny came through the pool room one night and he didn't try an hustle one person, he said he was a very good player and was looking for another who was willing to play $100 a set one-pocket. There are not a lot of road players that come through St. Louis so when they do, we tend to remember whether they are nice, and whether they owe us $ :D Danny was nice, and he doesn't owe anyone $. Unfortunately, we had no one to play him, I was scared and no one else was in the room when he came through.

Danny Harriman is a true gentleman of the game

Danny has some of the best fundmentals of any player playing today. He stroke is very powerful and consistent. If a young player ask me what top player to watch and try to imulate it would be Danny. I have watched him play alot this year and is picture perfect at the table. He is very polite at the table and away from it. One of the few gentleman playing pro pool.

I know everyone's money situation is different, but if that happens again, you can ask him to play for less. Almost all good players will settle on cheap action over no action, and I'm sure he did the same thing coming up the ladder. Two hours of playing a Danny Harriman will give you a hundred hours of things to practice. If it costs you $50, it was a cheap experience. From his point of view he made $25 an hour and paid for the gas, soft drinks, and table time.
