Thanks Dan,
Having a player of your consequence view the hit of my cue as an asset to their game is the reason I do this cue making thing. I am very glad that you have made the adjustment to the stiffer taper and the micarta ferrule and joint. This taper is a result of Ray taking the Omega DPK shaft contour and adding a bit more spine to the parabolic taper geometry from the joint to +15" making it hit even stiffer than the Omega. We made 3 different modifications until our test Pilot, ( Mr. Weir ) OKed the feel. As you know, Wendell played with a very thick shaft his whole life. Since you wanted a 12.60 MM as opposed to our 13 mm design, the new taper bar has got the same contour for your size request and has "The Mr. Anderson Taper" printed on it.
When you come to the shop, I will rebuff your cue and wax it as it is completely cured now. Since visiting Joey's shop I have followed his directions concerning my wheel buffing procedure and the results are unbelievable. Can't wait to Polish out the Red Devil again!!
BTW, The Red Devil has a cousin being hatched at the shop. It is The Yellow Jacket Cue which is a take off of your cue only the veneer colors are yellow, black, yellow with a the inlay design in veneer boxes in the butt and mini inlays in the point stock.
After this up coming show we will get to work on your PH cue design..
Thanks again for the kind words about your cue.
Rick
