You have a point punter but what specifically is it you want adjusted re USA team international matches? Is there anything else of note other than The Mosconi Cup where a USA pool team plays a team drawn from a group of countries? Doesn't the USA already compete against other individual countries in The World Cup etc?

Assuming it's The Mosconi Cup you want changed how much chance do you think there is of finding funds to put on a dozen or so Mosconi Cups against individual European countries? The way things are going the one existing Mosconi Cup will be lucky to survive. Without funds what do you think the chances are of top pool players of any nationality knocking each other over in the rush to represent their country if they have to fund the participation themselves?

I was thinking about the Mosconi Cup...and while we're at the Ryder Cup too!!:wink:

Well as far as the Ryder Cup goes there is certainly a precedent for change seeing as it was changed from its original form (GB and Ireland v USA) due to the dominance of the USA. Many might say that there is a case for that being reviewed and amended again in view of the dominance of Europe in more recent times. In fact if USA had not won last year that review may well have been happening right now.

I don't think you'd actually get much support for your idea re The Mosconi from USA pool players in general or azb'ers in particular. I think the majority would prefer it to stay the way it is in respect of the constituent countries making up the teams.

I think the Ryder Cup changed for the same reason I mentioned before.

Back when it was the USA against the UK, that might be similar to Californians against the EU or maybe the west coast against the EU.
