Dave Tice J/B and Player FS

JB is sold pending receipt of payment to dpaulnot.

Players cue is still available and I am still looking for offers...

I am putting up a set of Dave Tice cues I purchased from Bamacues a few months ago. One is a jump break cue swith two shafts and the other is a merry widow style playing cue swith two shafts.

The jump/break cue has a bacote forearm and butt sleeve with a solid black linen wrap. The butt weighs 15.6 ounces and has a 3/8 x 10 pin with a rosewood joint with Dave's signature ring work at the joint and both ends of the wrap. Shaft #1 is a perfect 4.0 ounces and has a 13mm hard leather tip installed for breaking. Shaft #2 is also 4.0 ounces and has what appears to be a milk dud style tip (13mm) installed (it is definitely an Elkmaster but hits very firm, hence my belief in it being a milk dud).

The playing cue is has what I believe to be rosewood forearm and butt sleeve (Bamacues or anyone else with better wood knowledge than me feel free to chime in). It weighs 15.8 ounces and has a 3/8 x 10 pin with what appears to be a purpleheart joint with Dave signature ringwork again. Both shafts are 4.0 ounces and have 13mm milkdud style tips installed.

Both cues are in excellent shape with some bluing on all shafts from play. Cues are straight together and apart.

I am asking $350 for the jump/break and $750 for the playing cue (prices include shipping to the US) or I will offer a $100 discount ($1000) to anyone who would like to buy the set together. I will consider partial trades and cash for either cue or for the set. Thanks for looking.

Nice cues Sir!

Just to let you folks know that David is a local NW cuemaker who has not received alot of national attention.....but, he makes some awesome cues and the playability is always his main attitude -- save the attention to detail and trying to find wonderful wood combos at the same time

The other thing to note is that Dave is not making any more cues which makes these two even more desireable! :)

Best of luck with your sale,

A steal of a deal on either cue

Thanks...

...for the bump and the note about Dave no longer making cues. Bama had told me that but I forgot to mention it. Also forgot to mention Dave's shafts are laminated by himself and take many years to make. Both are great playing cue. The only reason I am parting with them is that Bama finally found me a butt for my Black Boar shafts and I don't use these cues any more. I think a cue should be used not just looked at, so I would like to find them a home.

Thursday...

Morning bump. Some appreciation so far but no offers. Don't miss out on two truly great cues. Let's help find them a home.

I also bought a Tice cue from Joe a few months back and I must say it is really outstanding player, and stunning to look at!

I also have a Tice with a Rosewood forearm and Bubinga butt........It plays Jam up!!!!!

Sad to hear Tice isnt making cues anymore...... I'll never get rid of mine....

Bump for a great set! AT a cheap price!

Still looking for offers. I can't beleive noone is interested. These cues really are exceptional players.

It is unfortunate. I'd love to, but my wife is ready to shoot me unless I move some cues. Anyway, to my point. I spoke with David years ago and he was working on a new shaft that he claimed was low deflection. Claimed it was better than a predator. Of course, he wouldn't divulge why! Any way you slice the pie, David made one heck of a cue. For the money you are asking, its quite the stick. Good luck.

To any prospective buyers, these cues are really sweet examples of David Tice's work. They are clean and well balanced, and extremely good players. I have held these 2 cues and played with them, and I have to say that they would be about all anyone would need in a cue. Also, David is not building any cues at the time, so they are a hard to acquire commodity.

Chris (Topher) is a good friend and a great person to do business with. If you buy these cues, you won't be disappointed with the product or the service.

Joe

Thanks Joe

Thanks for the input Joe, and the friendship. Both are very much appreciated.

Wish I could afford both of them !

I know that feeling. These cues are super players, and the aged, laminated shafts play great. I think you will enjoy the J/B a lot.

Dave Tice took a job in Hawaii. He sold his cue making tools. Somebody buy this great cue.poolrod.

Here is another bump for Chris. BTW, the photos don't show how great this cue looks. David Tice has some of the nicest ringwork that I have seen in a cue, and this one is no exception.

Better pics to come...

I will be taking better pics of the playing cue and posting them by Monday afternoon. Unfortunately I am working back to back double shifts for the weekend and won't have time (or daylight for that matter) until then. As Bama mentioned Dave's ringwork is his trademark, and the woods he chose for this cue are dynamite and my first pics just didn't do them justice. If you are thinking about getting this cue, you may want to move on your thinking as I do not expect this cue to last long once the pics are posted.
