Day To Day Variations In Ocular Dominance

Does anyone else experience variations in their ideal cue position relative their ocular dominant eye? I've noticed that sometimes I play better with the cue positioned under my dominant eye, and sometimes I play better with the cue positioned in the center of my chin. It seems to variate on a regular basis, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing. I'll go through a week or so of playing great with the cue in one position, then go through a few days of under/over-cutting balls. I'll readdress my cue position, make the adjustment, and hit the balls like money again. The next week, I may have to do the same thing and move the cue position back to where it was a few weeks prior. It's a strange phenomena.

I see this with me not by time but by shot type. If I play with my head a bit to the right of center over the cue, I can make small angle and straight shots better. In cut shots of > 20% or so, I miss a lot more unless my head is lined up a bit more to the left.

Mostly this due to cue action across the sighting line!
When your cue action is straight you' ll see and make the balls better with your dominant eye over the shaft.
When you are applying unwanted side spin (just a hair of unwanted inside) is enough having the cue centered under the chin works better for players with a dominant eye.
Most players do not recognize when they apply just a touch of side spin.

You can test what I am saying by shooting a stop shot from the head point of the table at an object ball 2 diamonds away in the center of the table down to the short rail with firm speed and try to stop the cue ball right after contact with the object ball sending the object ball at the short rail and back to the cue ball. Use a striped ball as cue ball and you will immideately see if your stroking straight or across the line.
