You are right!!! Every player couldn't get over to talk to him quick enough as soon as he entered the room.

I never had the pleasure of knowing him or seeing him play, but have read a lot about what a great player he was. Probably, along with Bud Hypes, one of the best "unknown" players of all time.

That surprises me, he was pretty much retired by 82.
