Paul's shaft taper is one of the best for how I like a cue to play. I've been to his shop and he has hundreds of shafts hanging in various stages including near finish size. I think you'll be real pleased with what you receive. I wish he'd complete a group of cues for me as I am a fan of his cue craft. Martin
