Just in case anyone is interested (as I know quite a few will already have DAZN accounts).

The world’s top ten players head to Saudi Arabia this week for the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship and fans across the globe will be able to enjoy all the action for free on DAZN.

The event runs from December 18th to 20th in Boulevard City in Riyadh, and will feature the world’s best players - including defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, world number one Judd Trump, World Champion Kyren Wilson and the rest of the world’s top ten, plus two wild cards from Saudi Arabia.

The tournament features a unique concept, a 23rd ball known as the Riyadh Season ball. This gold ball is worth 20 points and can only be potted once all other balls have been successfully cleared from the table if a player is on a maximum break to make it 167.

As part of DAZN’s commitment to making even more sport free to a global audience, snooker fans from across the world will be able to enjoy the competition at no cost.

Registered users will also have free access to on-demand content such as documentaries and highlights as well as DAZN’s integrated products and services, including news, scores and statistics, free-to-play games, quizzes and podcasts.

To register for free, fans can head to www.dazn.com/home.

Do you trust it? "DAZN Freemium." It also offers a VPN at a discounted rate. I'm scared to click any link for fear of my credit card information and identity being, once again, abused by predatory tactics.

Interesting that Matchroom.live may be dead in the water from here on in when it comes to snooker. Did Matchroom make a deal with DAZN when they started the WNT.tv site to give them every snooker match from here on in? I like free, but I do not trust that DAZN website one bit.

I tried to login DAZN, and it recognized my email address. I did not go any further. They say it's DAZN Freemium, but maybe that is just this event, and then they will start charging me again for months I do not want to subscribe to.

I tried to cancel Dazn, which is now $250 a year.
They passed me from one agent to another for 15 minutes and they never confirmed cancelation.

Last year they auto renewed a year and never told me. When I called they said I'd have to cancel after 12 months ( They said that I couldn't even do it ahead of time ).

So last year I did a charge back and got this year for free.....don't try to hustle a hustler. Probably get em again this year if they don't cancel based on my latest request.

I would love to know if there are an ex-DAZN members who signed in for free and did not get tricked into a payment plan for more DAZN in the future. It recognizes my email when I attempt to log in, but I don't go any further. I'm scared of it. Any ex-DAZN users have any luck watching for free without being tricked?

I tried it to see, was able to sign up and not enter any payment details.

They of course do try to get you to subscribe, but if you decline and then go to the schedule it loads up, so it works for me (I'm UK based, possible it may be different in the US)!

They made me go through a chat bot that would take over 5 minutes to respond. It took like 15 minutes to cancel the damn thing.

This conversation has been informative. Thanks to all. I expect at least highlights on youtube. Well hope for would be more accurate. 👍

Were you a member previously? I was a member previously. Now I am ont a member and not subscribed. I worry that if I try to login with my email that DAZN will use my previous credit card information and charge me. That is why I would like ot know if anybody who was a member previously, but currently is not a member today, can login with their old ID and watch for free without worrying about subscribing again.

I found this on YouTube
And as I suspected the link function that shows a thumbnail doesn't work but seems to be a live broadcast

Still working for me with Luca Brecel and Zhang Anda coming up.

I decided to sign up with a different email address. I was prompted to create a password. Then I went send an email to confirm that it was me, which I did. I was able to see snooker with no subscription needed. This might be a one-time deal, but I'm gonna watch Ronnie O'Sullivan v. Ding Jinhui today at 4 p.m. Eastern USA time. Yay! Ding has won two of his matches, 4-nothing. For some reason, Ronnie has not played yet. Ronnie is the defending champion from March. Odd how they have some playing two and three matches before some haven't even played one. At any rate, so far so good with DAZN. I di dnot have to enter any credit card information whatsoever. Yay! Gold ball challeing is in effect.

The gold ball is set to be the 23rd ball on the table at the Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker event in Saudi Arabia.

It will join the 15 reds, yellow, green, brown, blue, pink and black on the tables across the tournament. It's going in the middle of the baulk cushion. It will be removed once a 147 is no longer possible in a frame. If moved legally during the frame, it stays where it finishes.”

The ball – officially titled the Riyadh Season ball – will be worth 20 points, theoretically leading to the possibility of a 167 maximum break, rather than the traditional 147 maximum.

The World Snooker Tour has simply said: “This gold ball will be worth 20 points and can only be potted once all other balls have been successfully cleared from the table if a player is on a maximum break to make it 167.

These two are good buddies. It's always a good match-up.

No, I have never been a member previously, so there was no risk of them having any payment details for me!

WST put out this announcement earlier:

Today's afternoon session will now begin at 6pm local time, 3pm GMT, where Mark Allen takes on Mark Selby for a chance at the 167 prize & a place in the semi-final tomorrow. The second match will commence N/B 7pm local time, 4pm GMT.

So it looks like everything is delayed a bit for some reason (probably the lights again)!!!

According to this, Ronnie still plays at 4 p.m. Eastern USA time. https://www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?template=24&event=2107

scott frost would have a word for these pockets.. i get it though, the promoter want big runs and possibly that 167 break to happen. seems plausible it could happen, just a nudge on the gold ball from the yellow to green (or green to brown). could also carom it to mid table, but that's of course riskier
