"THE LAST SATURDAY of the MONTH - 9-BALL"

$45 entry includes $5 greens fee

One Day tournament starts NOON sharp

32 player limit

Race to 7 on winner's side, race to 5 loser's

Added money $100

Champion Billiards will host an open 9 Ball tournament on the last Saturday of each month. In cooperation with Big Daddy's in Glen Burnie, we will combine efforts for higher level competitions more often. The DC, Md, and Va players can now compete twice a month with one day tournaments. The rules and format of Big Daddy's will be followed as well. I want to thank Richard Molineiro of Big Daddy's for working so closely with Pat Carosi and Eric Dennett in order for this joint venture to work. Big Daddy's and Champion's want better pool with more frequency

It's possible that Champion's may extend the 32 player limit but stress that Champion's wants to conclude the tournament in one day. So participation can vary

Champion's has 14 tables, full restaurant, and alcohol. Anyone under the age of 21 must be in the company of the parent at all times

More information will be available soon

Billy if you could print off some flyers for this ill help you promote it!! :) I would need them by next Monday night... Probably around 50 or so.

Can we show up and play? Or is this a pay in advance like Big Daddys (which is a downer for me)?

thanks.

Hey Mark,
Thanks for the kind words and also for your continued support for the tournament at Big Daddy's.

(Don't forget I can't play our scheduled 14.1 match this Thursday).

thanks.
I am sorry that paying in advance for the Big Daddy's tournament is a downer for you.
However, since we are limited to a one-day event we must keep the field limited to 32 players.

Since Rick Molineiro of Big Daddy's has collaborated with Billy's crew to get a similar tournament going at Champions you now have two monthly tournaments to look foward to.

Rick is always interested in keeping pool going and having tournaments available whenever possible so players can have places to compete for a moderate entry fee and decent prize money.

We had originally planned on having the Big Daddy's tournament every two months but due to the overwhelming success it has been increased to a monthly event.

If you do not know if you will be available to play early enough to pay and lock your spot then all I can say is I am sorry and better luck next month.

I have never seen or heard of any tournament that pleases all of the players all of the time.

Impossible task. All can not be pleased most of the time

Champions may have a dilemma. From a business standpoint Big Daddys knows from experience that payment in advance is the best way to go. Champion's has not opted for payment in advance but now appears that maybe we should have.

Champions wants to make this a one day event. We want to keep attendance around 32. It now appears we may have a better turnout than anticipated. Our Weekly OnePocket Sunday event just had an incredible 32 players. In fact we shut out a 33rd just to keep the chart with no byes. Never dreamed our OnePocket tournament could have attracted so many players. But there was also much interest in the 9-Ball this coming Saturday.

Well its clear that poolplayers are starving for competitive playing time. Together Big Daddys and Champions are trying to provide this competition. Champions has only 14 Gold Crowns so we are limited. At this point its just show up and play but just showing up could go beyond 40+ players and that means there would be a second day

Will discuss this pleasant dilemma with others involved

Thanks again to Big Daddys. We're working together for better pool

Champions will be open 24 hours sometime in February

Good luck to your tourney. I was not complaining. Basically your tourney sounds fun and I would like to play, however do to my work environment I never know if Sat is going to be a working day or not--so I can not lock in. And with the success of your tourney it fills way before the deadline.

Well if it makes you feel any better I am planning a one-day 64 player event just before the summer.

So like the man says, "It's over when it's over!"
