the event doesnt make any reasonable money off the action room and doesnt care if its there or not. and since its not likely legal then
its doomed anyway at some point. as all casinos have state rules forbidding gambling other than sanctioned games run by the casino.
they are lucky its been overlooked.
a gambling tournament in a state that allows gambling between persons in games of skill is where this needs to go.
with those running it making money only from entry fees. so its all legal.

Thank you for saying this…maybe people will listen to you. I’ve been saying it so long….pool players haven’t gotten so soft…people want to know what’s wrong with the game…..it’s exactly that-it is going just like our country-soft, softer, softest WEAK!Long slow grindy 1P is cool, up table games are my favorite to watch or play, even I get bored with 1 ball 1P.
It’s a special game, it has the least amount of balls pocketed of any game in any cue sport. Have to switch to billiards to see less balls pocketed. That’s pretty special lol.
Unless you have the farm bet twice on one ball 1P it’s painful, hell it might be painful while winning a new farm.
There’s not much action around here. At 3am the “action” room was crickets. Truck and Omega each had a set going. That was it.
Seems like ever since the “go to bed so I can do yoga in the morning milk drinkers”
invaded pool, things changed……all constantly talking about fatigue. The commentary is primarily about player fatigue. What ever…….

I have to respectfully disagree. That is an important rule that supports the better player. It enforces the need for both cue ball and object ball control and the need to have a true plan before you get down on the shot. I’d love to see Efren play it.
Your right. Play it befroe you judge it. Theres nothing wrong with this game or the rules, its an adaptation of the end game of One Pocket, great if your a gambler, great if you like it and Efren plays it at the same level he plays everything, but its not his favorite thing to do...,
its NOT for the Action stream!!! Its only there because no one else is doing anything and there not a lot of free tables to stir up Action.

The casinos dont care what you do so long as you aren't doing thing in the open that effect their Money. keeping you there gives them a chance to get in your pocket and their rooms are full. They know what the Derby City is and always has been, its just time to move it to a fresh environment. The weather sucks, the food sucks, the city sucks, there no appeal to being there.
Your biggest Action and best tournments are all south, Birmingham, New Orleans, Texas, let go PLEASE!!

Drugs kill people and talent. Drugs also deceive players into believing they help them play better pool. They also deceive folks into believing that they are fully in control of their drug use. What is often overlooked is alcohol is just another drug. A beer or two can quickly devolve into a quart of vodka in the same manner popping a few xanax can become a raging addiction to oxy. At one point, drugs were an everyday part of youth and club culture, and accordingly pool culture, too. Cocaine did some monstrous things to some very talented pool players. Some were taken and destroyed quickly (some argue these were the fortunate ones). Others used long and hard enough to be forced to confront their monster face to face. Some of these folks succeeded easily while others have remained on a never pausing merry-go-round of abuse and sobriety. Regardless of their route, most of these become very sad ghosts of themselves. You know them when you see them. Drugs can only help you lose.

Adaptation is not really the word here. Hitting the ball in any other pocket and losing has people nudging the ball up near other pockets and then you see who can hit it the thinnest, or you start like they did last night on "you are on 2 fouls" etc. Never said I haven't played it.
Ray was posting a LOT asking players to come match up, even is offering free hotel in N.O. and free hotel at the DCC for best action award.
I’ve been tired my whole life. It’s a huge pain in the ass, nothing helps, I think it’s an autoimmune thing. But get that diagnosed lol. It’s something for sure, what? Dunno

Agree to disagree. I enjoyed watching those first guys play it. (Pony Tail guy vs Reyito Crew guy). I could see the younger guy was stealing....but it was a fun match to watch.
About all you can do. If you have all your shit set-up you really have to stream what's available. Don't wanna armchair-quarterback this too much but if i was Ray or any other well known streamer i'd start lobbying for matches well in advance of the event. People know they're going well before so it shouldn't be too hard to get some players hook'd up in advance. Just a thought.

The level of play at the top is higher than ever. What has died/softened is gambling pool. Times have changed and people just don't match-up much at all anymore. There are a few hot-spots like Buffalos but overall action is deader than Elvis. I don't think being 'softer'(whatever that means) is a factor.
I like the game and play it alot. I just understand how it might not be appealing to the masses.

This is action, not a “content” production for YouTube or the rail. It’s about matching up and winning. The players decide the format, they aren’t thinking about the rail or audience.
If you want to watch short form races there’s plenty of that happening. In real world gambling, only the 2 guys holding cues and maybe a backer have the say about the format.
