Just noticed at the top of the website they have all the rounds scheduled and will be doing live match updates. Very nice.

I don't think they use brackets. I think they re-draw every round. I was there last year for the 9 ball and that's how they did it.

derbycityclassic.com will redirect you to dcctickets.com. Not a big deal but for those that are lazy like myself, I prefer to type less. ;)

Derby is a single elimination tournament with a "buy back" option making it a possible double elimination tournament. If you lose and you want to continue playing in the tournament, you can "buy back" into the tournament and your name will be entered into the next drawing. If you opt out of the buy back then your name is taken out. You can only buy back one time (for each discipline).

Because there is a re-draw for every round no one is playing the winner or loser of a particular match. If you buy back after your loss it is very possible that you could end up playing the same person that just defeated you.

Because every round is new and not everyone buys back, it is impossible to use brackets for the DCC.

The number in parenthesis is how many losses a person has for that particular tournament (Banks, 1p, 9 ball).

(0) - no losses
(1) - 1 loss - player has used their buy back option
(2) - player is out of that event

The only number that runs continous through all 3 tournaments is the points which is next to the win loss but in "squared" parenthesis [ ]. This is a players points towards the all around title.

The scrolling chart on the website used to be broadcast to all the hotel rooms at the Executive West hotel so you didn't have to go down to the tournament room to see what was going on. I haven't been to the new venue so I don't know if the casino does this or not.

Dcc has been great so far. The player schedules are being broadcast in the hotel rooms. I believe that John Brumback won the banks for the second year in a row. I also believe that Alex Pagulayan won the one pocket challenge. I hope to see you all at the AZBilliards room in the next few days!!!
