DCC dress code...

This is my first year heading to the Derby. I am a bit confused about the dress code. In matches that I have seen on accustats etc... it seems as though the enforcement of the code is pretty lax. i.e. There seem to be players wearing t-shirts, and occasionally even sweats. Is there much enforcement of the code on a match to match basis?

Also, will there be any issue with wearing a baseball cap backwards? the code says that hats may be worn in their regualar fashion. To me, there is not much more regular than a backwards cap...but I suppose someone may see it differently.

I would appreciate any input as I may need to go get a haircut and buy some henley shirts!

They do have the collared shirt, etc. etc. dress code, but yes, they usually are pretty lax about enforcing it - but sometimes they do...so what I do, is wear just a t-shirt as usual, but I bring a collared shirt down with me to my match, so if THE MAN happens to come by and :bash: - then I'll put the shirt on...:D

Better safe than sorry

I have been going for 10 years, and most of the time it is pretty lax. But if you run into a player, looking to be picky, he may complain. Better have some clothes available to wear if needed. Personally, I would rather they just enforce the dress code, if they are gonna have one. Especially for Accustats matches.

i also wish that they would enforce the dress code that they have.

If you have long hair that should not be a problem since there are no rules against it.
Why not just abide by the few simple rules that they have, then there will be no problems?

My intentions are to abide the rules, as I am a rules enthusiast. My major concern is with the backwards ballcap; my hair isn't long enough to tie back and, thus, I use the hat to proclude it from my vision. If I try to play with the bill forward, I can't see the broadside. Thanks for the input fellas, any experience with the hat though?

It's pretty clear

they would prefer that hats be worn bill forward.

I too wish, they'd enforce rules if they are going to have them.. Otherwise, what's the point??

When you shoot turn your hat around. When not shooting, turn it back. Or get a hat without a bill that interferes with your shooting.

I wore a hat one year and the TD came over to my table and made me take it off.....It was just a baseball cap, but they didn't care.....Thay actually announced it over the intercom because several people had them on.

Me too.Either stick to the dress code or just don't have one.Somebody let's certain ones ware whatever they want It seems to me.I would just like to know for sure, one way or the other.I've seen some with the hats on backwards so It must be ok.John B.

Should be one set of rules, for dress code, and being late for your match, and should apply evenly for everyone. I

I agree with what people say here. Enforce the rules fully or don't have them at all. As far as the hat situation, the line they use in the players meeting is "hats are to be worn in their inended fashion." which means frontwards. Your opponent can call you on the dress code as well as the TD. Personally, since this is a professional tourney, why not dress like it? Not saying 3 piece suit or anything though.

They just made Chris Gentile go change before his streaming table match with SVB ... he was wearing track pants and a t-shirt.
