With only a population of 5,500 residents, this city is LOOKING to attractions to bring in more revenue to the city, so...once again, why casinos...that charge to run events like DCC, instead of a city willing to PAY to bring it to their location???? How many other cities are there in this country that would be willing to get on board to support pool???

I think I see what ur getting at but I dont really agree. By having different properties with the same area you are giving people choices if different themes, experiences, price points etc. The thought is you are increasing market share. Ie if you have say 3 casinos the people that go to casino 2 and 3 are people that would have been going to totally diff casinos, not necc siphoning them off from casino 1.

In regards to location, im sure the place you've mentioned is very nice and its beautiful out there but personally I don't feel that type of a venue is the best choice for a pool event.

IMO, casinos are very well suited for pool "people". Open 24 hours ( to include 24 hour drinks :), also usually MUCH better choice of food and drink onsite, not to mention the gambling aspect. While not all ALOT of pool folks love to gamble - even if just poker. Rooms are often nicer in casinos as well.

Lets here some chime in with their preference - casino or non casino venue and why.

As far as location, obviously current location is pretty ideal ( being centrally located ) but if forced to chose between East Coast or West Coast I personally think East Coast is at least 10 x a better choice.

Did somebody actually call Mississippi a "Tourist Destination." You're kidding me right?

Yes. The Gulf Coast is absolutely beautiful! And they wouldn't have spent billions developing all those hotels and casinos right?

Also, Mississippi is traditionally one if not the poorest state in US so doubtful they built them for the locals.
