The award was named after the late great "St. Louie" Louie Roberts, a high rolling 9-ball monster that played at the highest level both in tournament play as well as in the back rooms. The 1979 U.S. Open 9-ball Champion, Louie Roberts was infamous for betting high and giving outrageous spots just to get action. His good looks and charismatic charm always attracted a crowd. That is, he was the personification of action and entertainment. Thus, the award is aptly named.

The winner of the Action and Entertainment Award receives lifetime free tournament entry and free hotel accommodations at the Derby City Classic. Additionally, the winner is included in the gallery of champions displayed in the tournament venue. Past champions include Alex Pagulayan, Tony Watson, Scott Frost, Cliff Joyner, Chris Bartram, Shane Van Boening and last year's winner Scooter Goodman.

As has been the tradition started 2006, the internet forum participants who attend the Derby City Classic vote for the winner. No hidden rooms. No 5 panel secret judges. You the internet public vote in the winner of the Louie Roberts Action and Entertainment Award.

So, go the Derby City Classic. Get caught up in the Action and Entertainment, and send me your vote for whom you think deserves the Louie Roberts Action and Entertainment Award!!!

My only complaint is that i personally think u should have to play in all three main tourneys to be elgeble. Because people like scooter which he stays in action, but he can because he never has to leave the action room. It is super tuff to focus on playing tourneys, gambling, and staying in the mix of everything AND sleeping. Scooter is a okay guy but i never seen him play any of the tourneys.

i would think there is a lot more for scooter to win in the action room then there is in the tournament room.if u dont finish top 3 in the tournaments,u get nothing worth playing for.
